About 7 years ago I started Blue Water Candy as something to do when the wind blew, and eventually stopped fishing for a living as this business grew to the point that I could not maintain both businesses.

While I miss being on the ocean about 250 days a year, this business does have its rewards, mainly being with family and friends more often. I am blessed with being able to fish tournaments with great friends on awesome boats. This year I fished Kingfish tournaments with David and Zachary Mason on their 35’ Pursuit “Knot Kiddin’, ” Chris and Christopher Edens on the “Sarah Jo,” a 27’ Triton, and Roy Jarman’s 31’ Cape Horn “Pro Build.”

I fished Billfish tournaments aboard the 45’ Hatteras “Jolly Mon” with George Holding and his wonderful family. Other crew members include Captain Randy Edwards, as well as Captain Russell Weaver, and crew chief Captain Rick Croson of Living Waters Guide Service. To all these gentlemen I say Thank You and I so look forward to 2010!!

Captain Rick, Captain Russell, and myself make up the team that fishes on Rick’s 23’ Onslow Bay “Team Blue Water Candy.” We have recently been crowned “National Champions” of Southern Kingfish Association class of 23’.

I will over the Thanksgiving holiday write more details on this experience, but at a time which we give Thanks for all that is important to us, I felt it proper to thank these wonderful folks and all of our wonderful customers for their support and friendship.
